Important Definitions :
- Linear Inequality : An inequality involving one or two variables in linear power is known as Linear inequality.
- Quadratic Inequality : An inequality involving one or two variables in Quadratic powers is known as Quadratic inequality.
Important Rules
- Equal numbers may be added to or subtracted from both sides of an inequality without affecting the sign of Inequality.
- Both sides of an Inequality can be multiplied or divided by the same positive number. But, when both sides are multiplied or divide by a negative number then the sign of inequality is reversed.
Procedure Adopted
- Find all the values of the variables satisfying each of the given inequalities.
- Find the values of the variables, which are common to the given inequality.
Note : Range of the values of the solutions of the given inequalities is known as the solution interval of the given inequality.
